Life as a Cultivate Intern

My name is Elissa and I am one of two interns here at Cultivate PR. The other intern just happens to be my roommate, Sarah. I am a Public Relations major at the University of Texas and will throw on my cap and gown to walk the stage in December 2011. With all of the different internships out there, I am lucky to have found Cultivate. The trust and communication is everything one would look for in a company. Besides that, we have some really awesome clients that are fun to work with. Some people like to come to the office because of the nuts and fruit in the back room; I like it because of the atmosphere. While we maintain a hard work ethic, somehow the environment remains friendly and casual.

Through our grassroots initiatives, I have the opportunity to meet people around Austin in order to build excitement around our clients. With just a small promotional gift card, I am able to make someone’s day. I was also fortunate to be here when Chef Tyson Cole released his first cookbook, because we threw an amazing cookbook release party at Uchiko, where there was food, drinks, and joy.

So far my time at Cultivate has been an exciting and fulfilling one, and I will miss it. But for the summer my adventures will take me to Spain, where I will stuff my face with Paella, and cram my head with Spanish. After that who knows, maybe Neapolitan pizza in Naples, or a few macarons in Paris. What I do know is that I look forward to coming home to complete my undergraduate degree and continue this amazing opportunity with Cultivate.
